Zumba fitness conquering the world
Everybody probably heard by now about Zumba fitness, the new fitness hype created by Alberto Perez. We have all seen the Zumba Videos on tv. If you haven't, this is what Zumba is all about: fitness and having fun at the same time, so actually having fun while losing weight. How is this possible you ask? Well, almost everybody loves to dance, either in a club or at home. This is what Alberto Perez thought of when he created Zumba fitness. He used the music from his home country (colombia) as aerobic music and thought of exercises that would be perfect for this latin music. What he created was the biggest fitness hype since Tai-bo. All celebrities do Zumba and pretty much everybody in America is doing Zumba. And now it is conquering the entire world. And probably this is a fitness method that is here to stay, because it is one of the first times there is the possibility to loose weight and get a killer body and have fun at the same time!
Zumba?
So what is in the name? Zumba means 'moving fast and having fun'. This latin name is the perfect name since the music most used during Zumba is Salsa, Flamenco and Merengue the real Lating music. But actually more and more different music styles are available for Zumba, hip hop, dance, rock, you name it, there is even zumba bellydancing now a days! Losing weight with Zumba
So, is it only fun or do you actually lose weight with Zumba? The answer is simple; yes you will lose weight with zumba. There are a couple of reasons. First of all, zumba uses an interval and resistance training program, which means changing from fast movements to slow movements. It has been proven that this kind of training is the best way for losing weight. The reason is that interval training will increase your metabolism and a higher metabolism means you will burn more energy the entire day! An hour of Zumba dancing will burn approximately about 600 to 800 calories. The most important reason why you will lose weight with Zumba is that it is so much fun to do!
